Hello! We are Cindy Coker and Lucinda Murphy, the owners of this duplex in N Asheville. Two longtime NASA engineers, with a combined 70 years of service with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville Alabama. We’ve both primarily suppored scientific experiment/instrument and facility payloads, from early SpaceLab and Space Shuttle days, and throughout the International Space Station Program, as Lead Systems Engineers or Project Chief Engineers. (Cindy can be found on LinkedIn if you’re curious to read a bit more.) Our best Asheville friend nicknamed us the Avl Space Ship Girls when we met him in 2008, a moniker that has always made us grin.

Our first trip together was to Asheville – we were immediately smitten with the cosmopolitan vibe, the mountains, and slightly more moderate climate! Thus, we have been working toward moving here full-time since we bought our first Avl home in 2006. We’ve lived part-time in West Asheville, in the house next door to the ModAvlTreehouse, and now out Beaverdam, about 3 miles away. We bought and renovated this duplex, with one side as the ModAvlTreehouse and the other side as a longterm residence in 2014.
